Intelligence and Practical Application of Robots to Open the Way to the Next Generation次世代を切り開くロボットの知能化と実用化

We are conducting constructivist research using robots to elucidate principles related to “knowledge” such as perception, cognition, and intelligence. In applied research, we are working to solve various social and engineering problems through research on intelligent technology to organically integrate information technology, network technology, and robot technology. In addition, based on findings from ecopsychology and cognitive neuropsychology, we are developing systems that know people’s capabilities, protect their dignity, and assist them. Specifically, in addition to research and development on robotic partners, we are conducting research on support systems for the elderly and vulnerable victims of disasters, as well as cognitive motor therapy systems.

知覚・認知・知能など「知」に関する原理を解明するために、ロボットを用いた構成論的な研究を進めています。応用研究では、情報技術・ネットワーク技術・ロボット技術を有機的に統合するための知能化技術に関する研究を通して、様々な社会的・工学的問題の解決に取り組んでいます。また、生態心理学や認知神経心理学などで得られた知見に基づき、人の能力を知り、人の尊厳を守り、人を支援するシステムを開発しています。具体的には、ロボットパートナーに関する研究開発のほか、高齢者や災害弱者への支援システムや認知運動療法システムに関する研究を行っています。
